In 2007 and 2008 we did not know the rules and were under the impression that if only we learned them, we would be victorious in 2012. We learned the rules well and followed them. We believed it would be a fair fight. We did not understand the utter depravity of the system. With the new rules in place, there is no need for a local GOP. There is no purpose for a state convention. It is impossible to follow the new rules because they can be changed at any time. I believe dues are only $100/yr. A lawyer will never be more than a phone call away. They will send you a card. Your wife can carry it in her wallet. She can have them on her cell phone. If stopped, she pushes a button on her phone and a lawyer will be on the line in a minute or two. The cop can talk to the lawyer. They will inform him of your rights and should he proceed they will pursue litigation for violation of civil rights. Problem solved.

HSLDA is the best. I don't know that I'd call the police in times of emergency anymore. Invariably, the police show up and do more harm than good. To invite them in when there is no problem at all is telling them, "Hey, there might be a problem here."

They will be looking for any evidence that they can lecture you on. If possible, they'll mark you down for a follow up visit when they've had time to do more research and see what they can catch you on. I just wouldn't volunteer anything. I don't even teach my kids to call the police. First call is to family or church or friends. I only call the police if I must. Just my 2 cents.

For supporting evidence, please see the Cato Institute's information on police abuse. That article does not offer solutions, but it nails the problem.

However, if you follow the link to Xfoolnature.org TOE and carefully read it you will see some simple direct ways of changing how we think about things and possible ways to address and fix the problems.
